‘Kidnap’ ends in marriage

Special Correspondent

TIRUPATI: Hyderabad-based Swapna’s “kidnap” episode had its echo at Tirumala, the abode of Lord Venkateswara. Unconfirmed reports indicate that a team of Cyberabad police who landed at Tirumala in the morning on a tip-off have indeed picked up the girl, who was alleged to have been kidnapped by an autorickshaw driver in Hyderabad. Sources also said that by the time the police could zero in on her, she had already married her boyfriend whose name and other details are not however available.

Local police assert that they were nowhere in the picture neither in their marriage nor in her reported arrest.

They however confirm, albeit unofficially, that it was a fact that the Cyberabad police whisked them away to Hyderabad by the Narayanadri Express.
