BHUBANESWAR: The Assembly on Monday paid rich tributes to Anantaram Majhi, the sitting Congress legislator from Lakshmipur constituency who passed away here on Sunday evening. A motion to condole the death of Majhi was brought by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik when the House assembled in the morning and Leader of Opposition J.B. Patnaik supported the same. Several leaders belonging to different parties spoke about Majhi’s life and contributions. One minute’s silence was observed in the House and the proceedings were adjourned for the day as a mark of respect to the late leader. Meanwhile, the mortal remains of the late leader was cremated at his native village Kucheipadar under Kashipur Block of Rayagada district.
