ABVP condemns Uttar Pradesh blasts

BIDAR: Members of the Bidar unit of the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarathi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest here on Monday, condemning the blasts in court complexes in Uttar Pradesh.

Addressing the protesters, ABVP organising secretary Suryakanth Dhoni urged the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government to bring in stringent laws to deal with terrorist activities. Withdrawal of POTA (Prevention of Terrorism Act) had led to spread of terrorist activities in the country, he said.

Youths had been recruited for training terrorists in the country and it was time for the UPA Government to take precautionary measures. Those who encouraged terrorism should also be punished, he said. Student leader Satish Biradar said that the Intelligence Bureau should work more effectively to prevent such blasts.
