CPI plea to check anti-socials

PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry Unit of the Communist Party of India (CPI) has demanded stringent action against anti-social elements.

State Secretary of the CPI said in a statement that the police force had to be on the guard “as anti-social elements due to the stepped up vigil in Tamil Nadu may sneak into the territory.” The territory had witnessed an increase in the number of murders and gang wars recently and further intrusion of criminals would only worsen the law and order situation, he said. — Staff Reporter
