Sankararaman case hearing deferred

PUDUCHERRY: The Principal Sessions Court on Monday posted hearing in the Kanchi Sankararaman murder case to January 4. When the case came up for hearing before Principal Sessions Judge D. Krishnaraja, ten of the accused were present. A Special Leave Petition relating to the continuance of the Special Public Prosecutor appointed by the Tamil Nadu Government in the case is pending in the Supreme Court since May 2006.

The Apex Court had stayed proceedings in the trial until further orders. — Staff Reporter
