Conference of Indian Society of Medical Statistics

Manipal: The Department of Statistics, Manipal University, will be organising the Silver Jubilee National Conference of Indian Society of Medical Statistics from November 30 to December 2.

Addressing presspersons here on Monday, the organising secretary of the conference and head of the department of statistics at Manipal University, M. Sreekumaran Nair, said that the conference aimed at bringing together researchers and teachers in the field of biostatistics, public health research, medicine, epidemiology and other allied subjects, to present and discuss their experience in applying statistical techniques, and elicit views and suggestions from the experts in related disciplines.

There will be a full schedule of contributed papers, invited lectures, symposia and posters covering a wide variety of topics related to medical statistics. The programme would include topics from cancer epidemiology, communicable and non-communicable diseases epidemiology, statistical issues in clinical trials, pharmaceutical research, statistical modelling in HIV/AIDS epidemiology, genetics and molecular biology.

Nearly 350 scientists from India and abroad would attend the deliberations. Around 138 research papers would be presented.
