Corrections and clarifications

The heading of an article was “Raise social awareness among women: Pratibha Patel” (November 26, 2007). The name of the President is Pratibha Patil. The detail was right in the text of the report. (We had issued a similar correction on June 19, 2007.)

The caption of the accompanying photograph in a report “Darjeeling affected for third day” (November 26, 2007) was: “In Protest: A deserted road in Karsheong town in Darjeeling Hills on Sunday.” It should have been “Kurseong town”. (Kurseong, a hill station, is 51 km from Siliguri and 30 km from Darjeeling. The local name of Kurseong is “Kharsang”, which in Lepcha means “Land of the white orchids”.)

In a report “Walking together … for a cause” (Bangalore city, November 26, 2007, page 3), on creating awareness on sclerosis, the reference to the National Cadet Crops Directorate, Karnataka and Goa, should have been to the National Cadet Corps Directorate.
