Sunny future ahead

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Its tagline “the best under the sun” is fitting in more ways than one for Bangalore-based solar water heater manufacturers, Emmvee Solar Systems.

Emmvee, which began modestly as a small manufacturing unit in the city in 1992, has grown to become one of the best-known solar energy companies in India, with over 400 employees, a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and several complex projects to its credit.

Now in a prestigious acknowledgment of their work, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has awarded Emmvee the second prize in the category “Solar Water Heater Manufacturer (2002-7)” for its product, Solarizer.

President Pratibha Patil presented the award to the company’s managing director Manjunath D.V. on November 22 at a function in New Delhi. To top it all, Emmvee now has to its credit an multi-national corporation status, having attracted Solar Cap – the international giant – to collaborate with them.
