CHENNAI: Security would be further strengthened at the Ajmer dargah in Rajasthan, said Prince of Arcot Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, president, Ajmer Dargah Committee, here on Monday. A decision in this regard was taken at the two-day committee meeting, which was held last week. In a statement, Mr. Abdul Ali said sensitive high-beam cameras, X-ray machines and metal detectors would be installed at the dargah. It was also decided to deploy ex-servicemen at sensitive locations of the shrine and to provide additional cloak rooms. A comprehensive security plan had been finalised by the Rajasthan government in consultation with the Union Home Ministry. This would be implemented with the help of both the governments, he said. Upgradation of the English medium Khwaja Model school with hostel facility; construction of a building for Darul Uloom; restoration of heritage of two ‘chillas’ of Khwaja Sahib; renovation of Eidgah, and three mosques; and expansion of the guest house were among the projects cleared by the committee, Mr. Abdul Ali added.
