22 applicants for coach’s job
NEW DELHI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Monday confirmed it had received 22 applications for the post of National coach. “The name would be finalised before the team leaves for the Australian tour,” said the board secretary Niranjan Shah.
According to Mr. Shah, no candidate outside the list would be considered for the post. If need be, the coach would be finalised through a teleconference involving members of the coach selection committee.
On the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL), the board vice-president Lalit Modi said the franchise prospectus had been approved and would be made public in a week.
He added the media rights would also be floated next week with the base price around $59 million. — Special Correspondent
