Seize property of tax defaulters, says MLA

ADILABAD: Adilabad MLA C. Ramchander Reddy on Tuesday suggested seizure of property from owners who default on payment of property taxes. He asked municipal officials to launch a special drive for collection of tax dues from citizens so that the coffers do not remain empty.

Cutting across party lines, councillors staged a sit-in near the dais at the general body meeting protesting the three-month delay in salaries of sanitation workers on the grounds that property tax was not being paid by citizens. They raised slogans against the municipal staff for being lax in collecting the taxes.
