‘Maintain all wives under Muslim law’

New Delhi: A man must maintain all his wives and children if he marries more than one woman under the Muslim law, a court here has ruled, rejecting a husband’s plea that he cannot pay alimony to his first wife and children. “If the petitioner could remarry again, then he can afford to maintain both wives simultaneously as per the requirement under the Muslim Law,” Additional Sessions Judge Praveen Kumar said.
