Hike in MSP of paddy possible, says YSR
HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy asserted on Tuesday that the Government was confident of convincing the Centre to substantially hike the prices by the next crop season.
By the time, the enhancement of the minimum support price (MSP) of Rs. 1,000 a quintal for wheat takes effect from next season, the State Government would be able to achieve MSP of Rs. 925 to Rs. 950 a quintal for paddy.
Further increase likely
It could ensure a hike in the MSP of paddy by Rs. 125 a quintal in the current year itself and this would secure a further increase in the coming days.
