Ailing woman urges top Maoist leader to surrender

KARIMNAGAR: An ailing mother, Ambeera Poshamma, 65, has appealed to her younger son and Maoist Dandakaranya dalam commander Ambeera Krishna and his wife, platoon member Allam Laxmi, to surrender and take care of her during last stages of life.

Krishna joined the Maoists some 10 years ago while working as a tractor driver in Bellampalli region of Adilabad district. He worked as courier, militant and gunmen for top Maoist cadre.

He married another dalam member, Allam Laxmi of Modedu village in Mahadevpur mandal of Karimnagar.

He carries a reward of Rs. 3 lakh. Though, he had not committed any offences in the State, he is involved in some offences in Chhattisgarh.

“We do not know what you have achieved with the naxalite movement. But, now it is time for you to take care of your ailing mother,” she wailed.

Kamanpur Sub Inspector Bheem Sharma assured all assistance to the Maoist couple if they surrender.
