Abdul Hakkim in fine touch
KOCHI: Seasoned Abdul Hakkim scored twice in a two-minute first-half spell as State League champion State Bank of Travancore defeated Universal Calicut 2-0 and entered the semifinals of the second Dronacharya Trophy Navy Day all-Kerala football tournament at the Fort Kochi Parade Ground on Tuesday evening.
Long-range effort
Hakkim scored his first goal through a long-ranger in the 10th minute and two minutes added one more with a smart shot from the top of the box.
The young Universal boys fought hard against the experienced SBT and had a nice chance to score in the 55th minute but Finster blew it up.
The tournament takes a day’s break and resumes with the first semifinal on Thursday. — Principal Correspondent
