170 fever deaths in Adilabad district
ADILABAD: As many as 170 deaths have occurred in Adilabad district during the current year due to viral and other fevers and other causes like anaemia. Of these, 115 deaths were reported in the five ‘high risk’ agency mandals: Narnoor, Sirpur (U), Jainoor, Utnoor, Indervelli, said Collector Ahmad Nadeem. Quoting statistics, he said over 2 lakh fever cases were reported in the district during 2007. Only 650 cases tested positive for malaria. Doctors from Karimnagar and Warangal have been deputed to the mandals.
