VISAKHAPATNAM: A mega tour programme to Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand is being organised by India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and Usha Tourism from December 27 to January 3. Disclosing this at a media conference here on Wednesday, Chief Operating Officer of Usha Tourism D. Sanjeeva Reddy said that chartered flights would be operated as part of the tour. The six-night and seven-day tour would be available for Rs.52,999 per person for the round trip that includes economy air transport, food and hotel accommodation. The chartered flights would be utilised to bring tourists from Malaysia to India. Indians settled in those countries and foreigners interested in visiting the tourists spots in Andhra Pradesh would be brought here and shown around those places. He underlined the need to promote tourism in a big way as it was the maximum revenue earner for the nation and also generates employment. He said that there were plans to operate 400-seater 747 Boeings every month soon. Mr. Reddy said there were plans to operate direct flights from Visakhapatnam to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore after the modernisation of the airport was completed. Interested persons can log on to www.ushtourism.com for details. D. Nagarjuna Sarma of ITDC’s Ashok Creatives Division was present.
