SHIMOGA: The Shimoga Urban Development Authority (SUDA) has proposed to construct a modern crematorium on the banks of the Tunga here. A team of SUDA, led by its chairman S.N. Channabasappa, inspected the site and also the existing conventional crematorium here on Wednesday. The SUDA has proposed to construct a modern gas-based crematorium at an estimated cost of Rs. 2.25 crore. The plan includes the construction of modern bathrooms and rooms for conducting obsequies. — Special Correspondent
