74 crore sanctioned for irrigation, says Minister

Sangareddy: Minister for Major Industries and Sugar J. Geetha Reddy who reviewed the progress of minor irrigation works in the district at the secretariat on Wednesday said that Rs. 74 crore has been sanctioned for the repairs and improvement of the existing minor irrigation tanks in the ten assembly segments of the district.
Ms. J. Geetha Reddy said that so far 395 works have been completed at a cost of Rs. 1,331 lakh. She added that work on another 336 works are in progress and another 535 minor irrigation works are pending.
It was also decided at the meeting that Rs. 20 crore would be spent on the modernization of Nallavagu and to take survey of Rachakatta chervu in Jagdevpur mandal and Khan Chervu of Vargal mandal.
