VIZIANAGARAM: Projects Head of JSW Aluminium Limited R.C. Swain has said that the unit at Boddavara in S. Kota mandal will be established only after receiving all clearances, including environment, from the Centre. At a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Swain said that the project, when completed, would transform the area in all aspects and the government had approved the relief package being offered to the displaced. Giving details of the relief package, he said that farmers holding assigned lands would be paid Rs. 2 lakhs per acre and Rs. 75,000 per acre to those cultivating assigned lands. The company would also offer equity shares worth the compensation amount. A trust was being constituted for the purpose. The trustees after keeping the shares for three years with them would transfer them to farmers, Mr. Swain said. Job opportunityMoreover, the company would provide a job to one member of a family. They would be paid minimum wages every month till they were absorbed in the factory. If the families rejected the job offer they would be paid Rs. 3 lakhs. Mr. Swain said that it would start a BPO for the purpose of absorbing locals in the factory. Houses would be provided in the rehabilitation colony for those who lose their homes in the acquisition. If they do not want houses in the colony they would be paid an additional amount of Rs. 1.50 lakhs, he added. In addition to the package, the farmers would be paid Rs. 5,000 each for transporting their belongings and Rs. 3,000 each for construction of cattle shed.
