Change in promotion policy sought Establishment of national rural bank demanded BERHAMPUR: Members of the Rushikulya Gramya Bank (RGB) Karmachari Sangh and RGB Officers’ Organisation sat on a day-long dharna in front of the head office of the RGB in the city on Wednesday. These agitating employees of this Regional Rural Bank (RRB) were demanding better facilities for its employees. They have been demanding implementation of pension and provident fund schemes on par with nationalised banks for all employees of the RGB and reimplementation of compassionate appointment of a family member of deceased employees. These employees were also not satisfied with the promotion scope for employees in the RGB. They wanted the management of the RGB to assure at least three promotions for every employee of the bank during his tenure. They also repeated their old demand of establishment of a national rural bank to work as parent body of all RRBs in the country. The RGB Karmachari Sangh and RGB Officers’ Association also decided to send five representatives to Hyderabad to hold a dharna in front of the headquarters of Andhra Bank on December 24 in support of the same demands.
