JNU students plan protest

NEW DELHI: The Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union along with research scholars of other Central universities will hold a protest demonstration outside the University Grants Commission office here on Thursday.

Over the past week, the JNUSU leadership has been visiting different university campuses to mobilise students to be a part of this agitation. “The unilateral stalling of the Rs.3000/ 5000 fellowships by the UGC has led to large-scale distress among the student community,” said JNUSU president Sandeep Singh.
