Namakku Naame proposals by month end

PERAMBALUR: Proposals for development works to be taken up under the Namakku Naame Scheme in Perambalur and Ariyalur districts should be submitted by November 30, Perambalur Collector Anil Meshram has said.
Mr.Meshram and his Ariyalur counterpart, V.M.Xavier Chrisso Nayagam, met on Wednesday to discuss the projects be taken up under the scheme.
Officials were told that the two districts would stand to lose the scheme funds unless utilised by February next.
Works planned
Improvements of school buildings, laboratories, hospitals, roads, primary health centres, veterinary dispensaries, libraries, hospitals, noon meal centres, public distribution system shops, creation of drinking water sources, construction of bridges, parks, playgrounds and other works could be taken up under the scheme in both urban and rural centres.
