Baseline survey of the disabled planned

TIRUPATTUR: The Consortium for Disabled Rights (CDR) organised its non-governmental organisations (NGOs) consultation meeting here recently.
Representatives of various NGOs working for the disabled in Tirupattur taluk attended it. The consortium discussed the rights and privileges of the disabled and also decided to take a baseline survey of them in the entire taluk. The consortium resolved to undertake a wider mass campaign to create public awareness on the rights of the disabled. It was also decided to submit a memorandum to the authorities concerned regarding three per cent reservation for the disabled in the rural job scheme in all the blocks where it was being implemented.
