BHIWANI: Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday said Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had given a push to usher in rapid economic and social transformation in the State. She was addressing a public rally here to mark the birth anniversary of the former Haryana Agriculture Minister, Surender Singh, who was killed in a helicopter crash in Uttar Pradesh in March 2005. Mr. Hooda announced that a polytechnic college would be set up here in memory of the former Chief Minister, Bansi Lal. An ITI, named after Surender Singh, would come up at Tosham. Earlier, Ms.Gandhi launched a Rs.3,000-crore Rajiv Gandhi Bridges and Roads Infrastructure Development Programme for Haryana from Charkhi Dadri. She also laid the foundation stone for two projects.
