AIIMS Resident Doctors’ Association president Kumar Harsh said: “We along with support from the technical staff have decided to oppose the Bill. A large section of resident doctors at the Institute will be boycotting OPD services and in case the President gives her approval to the Bill, we will intensify our agitation.” Supporting the resident doctors, AIIMS Faculty Association president B. K. Khaitan said: “The faculty is observing a ‘Black Day’ on Thursday and we will be having our general body meeting in the afternoon after which we will announce our next course of action.” The Faculty Association had said that “doctors at the Institute were pained to learn that despite repeated directions to the contrary from the court, the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister had persisted in his single-point agenda of ousting the Institute’s Director P. Venugopal from his post”.
