Five-year-old killed by minor driver
NEW DELHI: A five-year-old boy was knocked down by a Maruti van driven by a minor at Aman Vihar here on Wednesday. The minor has been detained.
Around 7-15 a.m. Arun, son of a scrap dealer named Mahesh, was playing outside his Inder Enclave Phase-I residence when the Maruti van driven by a Class XI student hit him. Arun was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
The police have registered a case and detained the accused, who is a resident of Inder Enclave Phase-II.
In another accident, a 50-year-old motorcyclist, Surender, was run over by a Blueline bus at Punjabi Bagh here around 3 p.m. Vinod Kumar, the driver of the bus plying on route 937 from Sultanpuri to Old Delhi, has been arrested.
