BANGALORE: A five-year-old boy was killed after he was knocked down by a multi-utility vehicle in front of his house in Banashankari traffic police station limits on Tuesday evening. The police gave his name as Dharshan, son of B.S. Murthy, a private company employee and a resident of Ittamadu Main Road. Around 6.15 p.m., Dharshan’s mother went to a shop in front of her house on the other side of the Ittamadu Main Road. While Dharshan was following her, the MUV hit him, the police said. She rushed the injured boy to a hospital and he was declared brought dead, the police said. The Banashankari traffic police have seized the vehicle and arrested the driver. In another incident, Arumugam (45), a construction worker, was killed in a hit-and-run case reported from Airport traffic police station limits on Tuesday. Around 5 p.m. while Arumugam, a native of Tamil Nadu, was crossing the Marathalli Outer Ring Road near BWSSB office, a vehicle hit him and sped away, the police said. The police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the vehicle. Run overA man aged around 45 was run over by a train on Bangalore-Mysore tracks on Tuesday evening. The body of the man, suspected to be an autorickshaw driver, was found on the tracks near Gangondanahalli. The city railway police have registered a case and kept the body at Victoria Hospital mortuary. RapedA 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour at his house in Rajarajeshwarinagar on Mysore Road. The girl’s parents on Tuesday learnt about the incident that had taken place on November 8 and lodged a complaint with the Rajarajeshwarinagar police. The police are on the lookout for the accused, Guru alias Pinto (26), who is at large.
