Anupama Passo, a class XI student of Jawhar Navodya Vidyalaya, Chettachal, has won individual championship by securing gold medals in (under 19 years) girls events, including 200 meters and 400 meters race and 4x100 meters and 4x400 meters relay, at the recently concluded Navodaya Vidyalaya National Sports meet held at Chandigarh. She is the daughter of Alphonse and Vasantha Mary and a resident of Pozhiyoor. First prize in stamp makingAparna G., a class III student of Army School, Pangode, has won the first prize in the stamp making competition organised by the Kerala State Council for Child Welfare in connection with the Children’s Day celebration. Around 4,500 children participated in the event. The stamp was released by the Minister for Health and Social Welfare P.K. Sreemathy in the presence of Mervin Alexander, director, Postal Services, on Children’s Day. Aparna had also won the ‘First A grade’ in ‘Chitra Rachana’ (water colour) competition organised as a part of the four-day Kerala School Kalolsavam at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Cotton Hill recently.
