Eviction drive criticised

Sirsi: Former MLA Vivekananda Vaidya has said that the drive to clear encroachments was being taken up without the consultation of peoples’ representatives.

He told presspersons at Siddapur on Wednesday that widening of roads was inevitable, but at the same time problems of petty shopkeepers could not be overlooked.

The district administration was carrying out the drive in Sirsi and Siddapur without taking the elected representatives into confidence, he charged.
