Call for joint struggle against privatisation
Correspondent
VIZIANAGARAM: Employees Union of APSRTC has called upon other unions to come forward for a united struggle against the government’s move to privatise the corporation.
At a press conference here on Thursday, union State general secretary K. Padmakar said that in the name of economic and liberalisation policies, the government had been considering privatisation of public sector units and the corporation was no exception.
The recognised National Mazdoor Union had also been supporting the government’s move, he alleged, and said that under the prevailing circumstances the Staff and Workers’ Federation, the Karmik Sangh, the Karmik Parishad and other unions must come on to a common platform and fight against the proposal.
