Deve Gowda to lead campaign

Bangalore: Janata Dal (Secular) national president H.D. Deve Gowda will lead the party’s campaign in the coming elections to the Legislative Assembly. Addressing a meeting of the party’s executive committee, district presidents and the newly elected members of the urban local bodies, which turned into a public meeting with party supporters from across the State attending, the former Prime Minister thanked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi for getting the dissolution of the Assembly approved by Parliament.
The former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy set a 24-hour deadline for the dissident group of legislators led by the former Deputy Chief Minister M.P. Prakash to rejoin the party, saying, “differences, if any, can still be sorted out”.
