What passport-seekers should note

BANGALORE: Vipin Singh, Director, EDCS (BangaloreOne service), has requested those seeking passport services at BangaloreOne centres to take note of the following points.

Passport services are available from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on all 365 days at all centres, except M.S. Building. The mode of payment for passport services is cash/credit card/debit card only (1.75 per cent additional charge for credit/debit card payment). Demand drafts are not accepted.

Photocopies of all original documents are to be self-signed and attested by a gazetted officer or notary public.

Applications are to be preferably submitted by applicants themselves, and in case they are not able to do so, then the family members of the applicant are authorised to submit them.

Spouse/father/mother/son/brother/sister/daughter are the only authorised persons.

Uncles, aunts and cousins of the applicant are not allowed to submit the applications.

Documentary proof to establish these relationships, such as ration card, passport of a sibling, driving licence and so on where the common parentage is established will have to be shown to the officer.

Original documents must be produced for verification, which will be returned. Any document which is in languages other than English/Kannada/Hindi should be translated into one of these approved languages by authorised translators and the original documents have to be submitted.
