Inter girl attempts suicide in temple

Reason for the girl resorting to the extreme step is not know

Doctors attending on the girl say that her condition is serious


ANANTAPUR: An Intermediate first-year student, Lalitha, 17, allegedly attempted to commit suicide by consuming pesticide in Saibaba temple beside the DSP’s Office here on Thursday.

Reasons for her taking the extreme step are not immediately known as the girl is unconscious in hospital.

Her family members too expressed ignorance over the whole issue. According to the police, the girl, a native of Muthuvakuntla village in Kanaganapalli mandal, is studying is pursuing HEC course in KSR Government Junior College, here.

She was staying in a rented portion in Azad Nagar on Kalyanadurg road along with her three elder brothers. The girl left home in the morning on the pretext of going to college and reached the Saibaba temple around 9.30 a.m. and consumed pesticide. As it was Thursday, the temple was crowded with devotees.

One of the devotee informed the 108 ambulance service and the girl was rushed to the general hospital immediately.

The doctors attending on her said that her condition is serious.
