Earnings of Hubli division of SWR rise

HUBLI: The earnings of Hubli division of South Western Railway have registered an increase of 14.6 per cent in the first half of the current financial year.

Addressing the 11th Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee meeting of Hubli division here on Thursday, Rakesh Vatash, Divisional Railway Manager, said that in the first half of the current financial year the originating earnings of the division were Rs. 1,543 crore. During the corresponding period last year it stood at Rs. 1,347 crore. He said a new railway station “Nagargali Station” situated between Tavaragatti and Devarai stations on Hubli-Londa section had been opened for passenger traffic from August 1.

He said electronic fare display board terminals had been commissioned at all reservation offices and unreserved ticket systems offices at 15 stations in the division.
