Dhanus launches vehicle tracking service

CHENNAI: Dhanus Technologies on Thursday announced the launch of FleeTrac, for remote monitoring and tracking of vehicles. Addressing presspersons, A. D. Sudhindra, Executive Chairman, said FleeTrac uses existing cellular airwaves and takes advantage of the global positioning system to track fleets, cars, motorcycles and recreational vehicles.

Beyond vehicle tracking the system would monitor fuel consumption, seat belt and panic button alerts that inform the control room of distress situations.

Mr. Sudhindra said electronics and vehicle telematics in particular, was a growth area in the automotive industry and the potential for improvement of fleet efficiencies was high. The company has the necessary technology, domain experience and resources to address this need, he said. The company has received a licence from the Department of Telecom to offer services all over the country.
