KURNOOL: Mohammadiya Wakf Complex president S.M. Basha said on Thursday that the body had mobilised Rs. 30 lakh for development this year. Talking to reporters here, Mr. Basha said the Wakf Board, which was satisfied with the functioning of the committee, comprising government officials, re-nominated the body for a six-month period. According to him, the staff collected a rental income of Rs. 10 lakh by prompting the tenants to pay regularly. Also, the managing committee spent Rs. 3 lakh on maintenance and development of two mosques attached to the complex. Twenty new shops were constructed at a cost of Rs. 15 lakh. The arrears due to the contractor were paid upon the instructions of the Chief Executive Officer of Wakf Board.
