315 policemen bag medals and trophies at various competitions WARANGAL: The four-day event of 50th AP Police Duty Meet came to a grand conclusion with a total of 315 policemen bagging the coveted medals and trophies at various competitions. Home Minister K Jana Reddy gave away the gold medals and trophies to the winners and runners at the valedictory function here on Wednesday. Overall championshipThe overall championship in Commissionerates went to Intelligence wing while in Ranges, it went to Hyderabad range. The Home Minister distributed gold medals and trophies to the policemen. Cyberabad team bagged the championship in Commissionerates while Hyderabad city team bagged the second place in Scientifics Aids to Investigation category while in ranges, Nizamabad bagged the first and second places while Warangal range got third place. In videography championship, Grey Hounds was declared winners while the Hyderabad range finished as runners. In computer awareness championship, Hyderabad range was declared winners while the Cyberabad range was the runners. In Dog Squad championships, Intelligence security wing won the first prize while the CID, Hyderabad stood second. In the Anti-sabotage check championship, Intelligence was declared winner while Guntur range was runners. In the overall individual championship, Mr D Pratap, Inspector, Intelligence wing bagged the coveted prize while in Range, it went to S V Rajasekhara Reddy, SI of Guntur range. Ahluwalia medalThe newly instituted ‘Sri V K Ahluwalia Security gold medal’ was presented for the first time to Intelligence Security Wing, Hyderabad constable B Ramprasad (2003), Mahabubnagar police constable, Shabbir (2004) and to Late E Bhushaiah of Armed Reserve constable from Krishna district and to SI Bheema Naik of Prakasham district for 2006. They all risked their lives to save VIPs and to defuse bombs planted by naxals.
