KULITHALAI: Water and air pollution by industrial units continued to cause agony for farmers in Karur district, they complained at the grievances day meeting held at Kulithalai on Wednesday. Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) authorities assured to do the needful.

Raising the issue, Tamil Nadu Vivasayigal Sangam member C. Kandasamy of Panjaiyankottai in Aravakurichi taluk complained that dust from a stone-crushing unit in the area was affecting the crops. TNPCB officials contended that the unit was inspected and its owner had been directed to take precautionary measures.
