HYDERABAD: Cyberabad Police Commissionerate’s new office building at Gachibowli, built at a cost of Rs. 8 crore in a sprawling 31-acre campus, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy here on Thursday.
Police Commissioner S. Prabhakar Reddy and his staff began functioning from the new premises on the same day. The foundation stone for the building was laid on November 14, 2003. The building was supposed to have been completed two years ago but took longer due to administrative reasons and change of guard in the State Government, the Commissioner later told reporters.
Buildings would be constructed shortly for the Armed Reserve (AR) wing of the Cyberabad police presently accommodated at Amberpet. Residential quarters for nearly 500 AR policemen would also come up. The spacious office building has facilities like cafeteria and a small auditorium.
Home Minister K. Jana Reddy, DGP S.S.P. Yadav and several senior IPS officers, including IGP (Computer Services and Standardisation) and former
Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Mahender Reddy were present.
