Call for more steps to improve life of disabled

NEW DELHI: Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Meira Kumar on Thursday said the state canalising agencies, responsible for disbursing loans to people with disabilities, should become pro-active and ensure that their services reached the excluded classes. Speaking at a conference of the agencies of the National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation here, she said the agencies would have to make extra efforts to reach out to the beneficiaries.
