Suggests feedback form for tips on how to improve DDA’s functioning

NEW DELHI: Delhi’s Lieutenant-Governor Tejendra Khanna on Thursday visited the Delhi Development Authority headquarters and inspected the public interaction areas at the DDA office.

Addressing the civic body’s officers, Mr. Khanna said: “The DDA is about to complete 50 years and it has done good work in that time in certain spheres such as developing greens and sports infrastructure. A recent delegation from China has greatly appreciated the green cover in Central Delhi.”

Mr. Khanna said though the DDA had been doing good work, it was vital for it to remain on top of its responsibilities if Delhi was to be made a world-class city. “Personal integrity, ethics, efficiency in one’s area of expertise and a people-friendly approach are necessary for any organisation to achieve excellence.”

The L-G suggested formulation of feedback form for visitors who could utilise it to register grievances and give tips on how the DDA could improve its functioning. “There are several occasions when a decision cannot be taken due to lack of clarity in a policy. Such cases should always be referred to the highest level of hierarchy for immediate clarification. There should also be division-wise efficiency audit conducted by an external agency. All employees should undergo at least a week’s training every year to re-orient and re-equip themselves with modern technologies and innovations,” he added.
