KOCHI: Air India has announced a special fare for the direct Mumbai - New York daily service with immediate effect. The one-way fare has been reduced by 16 per cent, while the two-way fare has been cut by five percent. The offer will be in force till December 15. Passengers from Kochi would also benefit from the drop in fares. For those travelling from Kochi to New York via Mumbai, the one-side fare will be Rs.25,000 as against the previous fare of Rs.29,700. For two-way journey, the renewed fare will be Rs.32,900 instead of Rs.34,700. Passengers from Kochi could take the Indian flight to Mumbai in the morning and get hotel accommodation till the departure of the New York flight at 12.30 a.m. They can also have the option of taking the Kingfisher Airline’s flight in the evening which is appropriately-timed for the connection passengers. Air India has also replaced its leased aircraft operating in the Kochi - Kuwait sector with its own aircraft. Till now, the service was operated as an all-economy class flight. The flight will now have business class as well. The service is operated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
