DSMC carol fete today

PATHANAMTHITTA: ‘Pulkoottil Pookkalam,’ the annual Christmas carol festival, organised by the Department of Sacred Music and Communications (DSMC) attached to the Mar Thoma Syrian Church of Malabar, will be held at Dr. Alexander Mar Thoma Auditorium in Thiruvalla on Saturday evening.
DSMC director Fr. Sajan P. Mathew said the Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan, who is also the DSMC president, would inaugurate the event at 5.30 p.m.
Senior Metropolitan Philipose Mar Chrysostum will deliver the benedictory speech. The music fete will begin with conventional carol songs by the Thiruvalla Coral Society led by Prof. Jacob Kurien. A two-hour performance by the popular music troupe, Rex Band, will be the main attraction.
