IRCS branch bags 12 gold medals

Kakinada: The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) district branch has bagged 12 gold medals for the memberships and funds it mobilised in 2006-07. Three medals have been awarded to the district Collector and IRCS district chairman M. Subrahmanyam, two medals for IRCS district secretary P. Durga Raju and a medal each for District Manager, Housing, R.V.V. Satyanarayana, District Panchayat Officer Ch. Subrahmanyam, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer D. Nagesh Babu, District Registrar Y. Nooka Reddy, Mummidivaram tahsildar Gnanamba, Ainavalli MPDO P. Usha Kiran and Abhyudaya Foundation president Badam Madhava Rao.
The awards were presented by the Governor and IRCS State Chairman N.D. Tiwari in a function held at Hyderabad on November 27.
Head constable feted
Superintendent of Police B. Sreenivasulu felicitated head constable S. Venkateswara Rao on the occasion of his retirement at the District Police Office (DPO) here on Friday.
Rao worked in Angara police station. The SP complimented Mr. Rao for his dedication to duties and called upon the police officers and constables to strive to improve the image of the police by maintaining cordial relations with the public and by being sincere in fulfilling their responsibilities.
Additional SP A.V. Ranganath, Kakinada DSP Surya Rao, AP Police Officers’ Association district president G. Balarama Murthy, circle inspectors and DPO administrative officer Prabhakar Rao were present.
