Arrangements in full swing for APSP Raising Day fete

MANGALAGIRI (GUNTUR): Arrangements are in full swing for a colourful spectacle of music, acrobatic adventure and ceremonial parade set to unfold on Saturday at Andhra Pradesh Special Police (APSP) Golden Jubilee celebrations on the 6th APSP Battalion premises here.
The day would be observed as the Raising Day of all the 15 battalions of APSP. Home Minister K. Jana Reddy and Director General of Police S.S.P. Yadav would take part in the celebrations. Battalion Commandant V.C. Sajjanar supervised the arrangements on the premises.
Speaking to media persons on the battalion premises on Friday, APSP Additional Director General of Police M. Alagar said that for the first time, the 15th APSP Tribal Battalion, based at Sattupalli, with more than 1,000 men would take part in the parade. The celebrations would start off with a Hursh Parade at 9 a.m. held amid the customary fanfare. Contingents from various APSP battalions would take part in the parade and conduct the ceremonial march past.
