‘No rift between YSR, Jaipal’

Correspondent

MAHABUBNAGAR: Special representative of Andhra Pradesh in New Delhi Mallu Ravi has brushed aside reports of differences cropping up between Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Union Minister for Urban Development S. Jaipal Reddy.

Speaking to presspersons here on Friday, Mr. Ravi said that Mr. Jaipal Reddy and Dr. Reddy were maintaining cordial relations and working together for the development of the State.

When the Union Minister wanted to allocate a lion’s share from the funds earmarked for the development of municipalities, the Chief Minister immediately saw to it that detailed project reports (DPRs) of the municipalities concerned reached to the Union Ministry so that there would not be any delay in sanctioning of funds.

‘Wishful thinking’

He said the so called rift between Dr. Reddy and Mr. Jaipal Reddy was nothing but “wishful thinking” of those who wanted to create a crisis in the State Congress. He advised the opposition parties, particularly the TDP in the district, to stop levelling allegations of irregularities in ongoing irrigation projects in the district and extend cooperation to complete them within the stipulated time.
