Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: Aiming at discussing the key issues in Islamic art and architecture in the context of the contemporary global scenario, the Faculty of Architecture and Ekistics at Jamia Millia Islamia here is organising a three-day international conference in collaboration with India Islamic Cultural Centre beginning December 10.
The conference is part of an ongoing collective and collaborative endeavour of educators, researchers, artists and professionals from many countries who share Islamic heritage and culture. Its scope will extend across various fields such as visual arts, performing arts, literature, science and technology, architecture and ekistics.
“Islam as a divine message of peace, harmony and rightly guided education is a holistic approach, which in harmony with nature encompasses these fields of arts and architecture in a comprehensive and sustainable manner, providing humanity with options to guide their sustainable development in these fields,” said Jamia spokesperson Rakhshanda Jalil.
