Accountant caught

Bangalore: The Lokayukta police here on Thursday caught Chikka Papanna, village accountant, Kammasandra, Vijayapura Hobli, Devanahalli taluk, red-handed while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 3,000 on the complaint of Krishna. According to a release, Mr. Krishna had applied for change of khata for land which was in the name of his late grandfather to that of his mother and aunt. Mr. Chikka Papanna, who had demanded Rs. 8,000 from the complainant, agreed to accept Rs. 4,500 and had taken an advance of Rs. 1,500, it is alleged. — Staff Reporter
