Report on mining filed in court
BANGALORE: The Government on Friday filed a report by the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI), Nagpur, on mining in Bellary district before the Karnataka High Court. The court had on the last occasion directed the secretaries of the Department of Mines and of the Department of Forests, Environment and Ecology to be present in court on the next date of hearing and also file the NEERI report. The court is hearing a petition on grant of mining leases by the Government in Kumaraswamy Range in Sandur taluk of Bellary district. Justice Shylendra Kumar adjourned further hearing on the case.
